Deep dark reddish garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, minerals, spices, leather, tobacco, herbs, some balsamic notes & a slight hint of cedar in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of blueberries, cherries & pomegranate with herbs, spices, minerals & a slight hint of cedar. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing (90 mins+) but has potential for further development with additional aging at which time it may merit an even higher score (96+). An excellent Brunello.

A private dinner (Café Parlotte, Amsterdam, NL): Big yet well delineated nose, intense and powerful, fragrant and flowing, soft red fruit and autumnal notes, transparent and precise, minerals and flowers, smoke and warm spices, delicately balsamic oak, fresh and silky, firm but refined tannins, long and flowing finish with a hint of cream. A whirlwind of flavours, wonderful tension and energy, captivating. Real finesse. Long life.

2023 Montalcino trip, third vineyard visited. Dark purple/brown, strong aroma of fruits. Modest first Brunello taste of red fruits - cherries, currants and into a medium dry and earthy finish hints of pepper and herbs. Long linger cheek smacking. A ripe and fresh wine and rhythms of a good Brunello tasting well.
