Salmon burgers with salad and sauteed fresh Chantrells - Another great bottle slightly muted delicate aromatics peach, tropical fruits and roses. The texture is pure silk with superb balance and just enough acidity to keep it fresh and full of verve. It's hard to put the glass down as i just want to quaff this nectar. Love the way basic Trimbach ages. i think this has aged better than the 1999.

Had this with some Thai food and it was surprisingly dry upon opening. The aromas were a lot more subdued but the flavors were good with lots of yellow tropical notes and good balance. Fresh and easy going this held up well considering it's basic designation. Enjoyable

WCC Blind Whites (Not Chardonnay) (Creo’ Restaurant, Albany, NY): Gorgeous tropical fruit nose. Surprisingly dry in the mouth given how sweet it is in the nose. I think it's Alsatian Pinot Gris. Mike T thinks it's Gewurz. He's right, but it doesn't have any of the lychee/rosewater flavors I'd expect.
