Am surprised by this wine every time I drink it. Smoky, peppery herb, balsam and cherry-berry aromas lead from the glass and deliver a well balanced sip. Nice combination of fresh/starting to dry red and blue fruit. Medium to full bodied, well rounded now with tannins and acid in balance. Really drinking well right now. The finish is filled with currant, roasted espresso, anise and fresh soil.

Opens to a flinty reduction that blows off, unearthing inviting notes of blackberries, currants, fennel, and a briny undertow. Medium bodied, impressive freshness, with spicy complexity, and that Old World balance and restraint I love in New World wines. Good now with a 1+ hour decant.

A lighter, more restrained style of Cabernet than Napa, it shows med (+) aromas of black fruit, dried herbs, mocha from 18 mos. in 40% new French oak. Still developing. Dry, but with nice fruit; med to med (+) acidity, tannins and alcohol (13.7%). Nicely balanced, with med (+) body, flavor intensity and length. Not particularly memorable but well made, with good QPR. Drink through 2025.

Ran through vinturi into decanter. nice solid balanced cab, tannins smoothed out, medium finish. got a case at auction, very discounted from the winery price. one bottle out of maybe 3-4 I’ve opened was partially oxidized (it happens). the rest seem be at plateau with at least 3-5 years left, if not more, however I don’t see it substantially improving. Glad I have several more as this makes a good stand-in cab when I don’t want to open the $$$ stuff.

Similar notes as last time. Hasn’t developed much. Still a solid Washington cab that is balanced and savory without being green
