To start off, I must make a statement that this chateau should stop with the completely unnecessary wax dip. It does not make them any more prestigious and simply makes the wine harder to open.
As to the wine, it is good, not great. It is a light-bodied, modern style mine no matter how one looks at it. Sweet and fruit forward with little, if any, classic CDP characteristics.
There are much better CDP wines for mush less cost.

A lighter-styled CDP and a beautiful one at that. Silky tannins, ripe raspberry fruit and some garrigue. Great balance to the wine from start to finish. Wonderful expression!

Really fantastic, started off sharper with bitter red fruit Grenache character then got darker sweeter and more savory with air, plush dark fruit, layered and mid palate richness that only old vines can give, sweet fruit but nowhere near the overripeness of the ‘05-‘07 era, dusty mineral, baby aspirin, beef stock, the richness yet taut acidity that one lives in Syrah while being distinctly Grenache, balanced and should age gracefully; a fabulous bottle again proves my love for Marcoux but especially the VV CDP.

K&L Rhone Tasting (K&L Hollywood): A hint closed at first; on the nose, extreme grenache fruit, but again a bit roasted in character; some sweet raspberry and incense, but on the raisiny end of the spectrum. Good acidity and extremely rich; beautiful color and a bit of bitterness that suggested wood on the finish. I wanted to like this a lot more than I did...

Certainly delicious. Soft. Constrained. A crowd pleaser, though could have used more classic CdP funk.
