Medium ruby in the glass with aromas and flavours of summer cherries and rose petals with a hint of milk chocolate. Light tannins. Good easy sipper paired with light meals if you don’t mind the hint of sweetness.

Agree with BanMan, not a traditional Merlot. Tastes more like a GSM. Medium to deep ruby in the glass, with aromas of plums, cherries a hint of cedar/leather. Flavour is pleasant summer cherries, plums and red berry fruits with a hint of dried raisins. Mild to medium body, mild tannins. Paired well with pesto chicken pizza.

Freak QPR wine. No varietal character whatsoever - actually drinks more like a New World Pinot Noir or Syrah than a Merlot - but who cares? This is so round, harmonious and absolutely delicious. Shows very good focus and intensity, finishing long and smooth, while a touch of oak lends ample complexity. Maybe leans just slightly to the sweet side, but for $7.99 a bottle, I can live with that. This has been our house red to pair with pork and chicken for quite some time, and it never disappoints. Hope I can still find more of it. 50+5+11+16+7=89
