Well, on one hand, it probably wasn't the best match for our spicy wood-fired pizzas. On the other hand, based on previous reviews, I feared I'd let this fade away in the corner of the cellar ... and fortunately, it's doing just fine. Solidly good, if not quite great. A bit more heat on the back end than I prefer, so maybe that's a sign of the fruit falling away from it's former glory. Even so, if this bottle is any indication of what's going on with the others remaining in the corner of my cellar, it doesn't seem like there's any danger of it falling apart in the next year. (But I'll make it a point to drink up over the next 24 months.)

Fading at this point, turned rapidly in a year. Dried petals, the tannins have dropped at this point. Some focused fruit, but limp structure. Previous bottle drunk last year was creamy and delicious.

Opulent. Succulent. An aging actress once younger and arguably prettier but now with the patina of experience she is at the peak of her powers. Lovely. Memorable performance.

A very good wine. And big one at that. The 2014 is drinking nicely now. Dark berry and cassis on the nose. Opaque. Subtle fruit on the attack which grows and grows to a puckering treat of sweet ripe fruit, fine soft tannins, wild berries, and California woodiness with Mouvedre chalkiness and fine tannins carrying through to a long finish. While Cline’s offerings tend to conform to a certain profile ... I like it.

Served blind At first whiff, I thought this was a “natural” wine with a fair amount of VA and other funky notes which blew off over the next 20 minutes Fairly dark Dark fruited notes Moderate (ripe) tannins, bone dry and relatively difficult to place at first, I thought old world. Needs time to open up, then quite remarkable and even better on day 2 Hold
