This wine needs at least an hour in the glass to open up. Fragrant toasted coconut, ripe red fruits, a touch of fresh sage and toasted cinnamon stick. Palate is fresh and clean, good density and persistence on the medium-bodied structure. Some ripe tannins towards the finish, extending the impression with dry red fruits. Ready to drink with an hour of decanting. Still young and will develop for the next 5 years.

Alchemist in Alsace Great concentration of dark berries and surprisingly accessible for a young Burg. It’s probably not as expressive as it will be at maturity but still enjoyable

A Sextet of 2020 Sigaut Chambolle-Musigny (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Light ruby. Fragrant and very floral with dull red fruit and menthol. Light to medium weight. Lithe, supple, soil drenched, and flowing. The subtle red berry fruit is complemented by blood orange. Open and seductive. Gorgeous wine that is free of the heavy wood imprint that Groffier used to have.

Amazing burgundy. The right amount of acidity and complexity. Beautiful on the nose. Tasting great right now.
