A nice wine that has been heading downhill lately, but now it has fallen off the cliff. Bit murky red color. Plums and slight funk on the nose. Plums on the bitter and unpleasant palate. Soft tannins, decent acidity and balance. Bitter notes dominate. Finishes short. It's shot. Too bad, it was still nice only a few months ago.

Faintly translucent red color. Plummy, spicy nose. Plush fruit on the palate, cherries, plums. Fine tannins, nice acidity and balance. Finishes moderately long with red fruits and sharp spice. This is not as good as my last bottle but pleasant, still very nice. I'd drink over the next 3 years.

This has held up well and is not even at peak yet. Deep, meaty nose. Blackberry, blueberry, anise on the palate. Intense fruit. Tannins are firm, need another two years to soften some more. Ripe red fruit on the mid-palate. Becomes smoother and richer with time in the glass. Perfectly balanced acidity. Finishes long with dark fruits and pepper. Not at peak yet, give it 2 to 3 years.

Drinking wonderfully. Star among the 05-06 vertical.
Savory, meaty, cola spice, textured and integrated.
Really great expression of Syrah.
