2018 Little Engine Merlot Silver (Okanagan Valley) Deeper purple than a Ravens jersey. Loads of blackberry, fruit cake and football leather on the nose. Lots more berry fruit on the taste with coffee and cocoa notes. The McCaffrey style tannins were definitely intimidating yet more integrated than intense. Great legs and length. A 49ers style finish was less hot than expected despite the 14.3% alcohol. Overall, a massive and memorable Merlot that gave my Riedel a super bowl (which I finished in four downs) .
This Merlot with meat made a better combo than Mahomes and Kelce. Of course, cooking a beef tenderloin sous vide is about as redundant as teaching Taylor Swift how to Travis pick (guitarists may interpret this differently than Swifties and/or NFL fans). But knowing my massive beast muscle would attain a consistent medium-rare temperature of 132F throughout (just like our planet will be with only a couple more centuries of global warming) was well worth the effort.

14.3% Merlot. Plum, black cherry, banking spices. Needs time to open up and will probably be even better in a couple years.
