The 2019 Clos Marsalette is dominated by smoky charcoal flavors which seem characteristic of Pessac-Leognan. The dark fruit flavors are one-dimensional, and the overall effect seems a bit unbalanced and clumsy.

Nose: Cherry compote, cherry lots of red fruit, hints of wet earth, leather After opening and aeration strawberry and cherry is not prominent. Nice cozy

Red fruit dominate with a peppery spice bite. Fresh acidity and firm tannins. Probably needs another year plus but should age nicely.

Perfect combination of the firmness and subtleness of Bordeaux when most lack one of the sides coming on too hard or feeble
