Fresh, full-bodied and lively, this Corton Charlemagne clone was spectacular. Thoroughly enjoyed with top quality sushi and Joe’s key lime pie. Loved it!

Decanted one hour before service. In the glass, medium-pale, slightly cloudy yellow. On the nose, petrol funk, lemon, and smoke. On the palate, crisp citric acidity on the attack, opening into a smoother, more unctuous mix of lemon and smoky oak - not elements that evoke an unctuous mouthfeel, I know, but here we are. The finish tightens up with more acidity and what feels like some unresolved tannins - bracing, but appealing.

White peaches and tea on the nose, with a whiff of thyme. The palate shows notes of honey, peaches, and cream. Medium-long finish. Nice pairing with pasta and Delicata squash with a Béchamel sauce for Christmas Eve.
Aubert makes nice Chards, but I’m still not sure they’re worth double the price I pay for some of the higher end bottlings from producers like Williams Selyem and Martinelli. Maybe I’m drinking these too young, so I’ll try again with more age.

Popped and poured, followed over several evenings. Outstanding Chardonnay, just delicious; no off notes. Powerful.
