  I thought this was amazing - received as a Christmas gift. My notes: beautiful, not quite opaque, a tinge of brown on the rim, but very smooth and full of delicious, ripe flavors - figs, red berries, underbrush, pine bark, menthol - so balanced - great finish... maybe was a bit of a fruit bomb earlier but this is drinking wonderfully at this age. Bottle was in great shape, cork was perfect. Amazing. Wish I had more!

  Subsequent notes on this wine from over three years ago. Medium red garnet in color with some clearing at the edges. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruits aromas of cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of spice notes of nutmeg & cloves, smoky, earthy/dusty, some floral notes, cherry-cola & a touch of vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of sweet cherries, strawberries & plums with spice notes of nutmeg & cloves, cocoa, earthy & a bit of vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but at about 11 years of age, I doubt any further development from additional aging would occur.

  A bit disappointed in this bottle. Good but not as "brite" as earlier bottles. Lots of cola flavor.
