This wine had a Beaujolaislike nose of cotton candy and flowers and reminded my wife and I of some Beaujolais Rose' wines that we had in France. Lacking in acidity. I'm not sure if this is typical of Tavel (WS called it "textbook") or the result of the extremely hot weather in 2003. It was not completely unpleasant though and I seemed to like it better than anyone else. Creamy fruit notes of cherry and melon. 82-83 points.

Good as always but with the pan fried trout and the mango black bean salsa it was especially good. Our house rose year in and year out.

On the nose, strawberries and a dose of minerals. On the palate, red fruit (strawberry, cherry) and a nice minerality. Good acidity.
