Almost called this flawed but lack of experience got the best of me as I was not sure. Clearly reduced. Light pale yellow. Slight fritz upon opening with an offputting iodine grape nose. Musty throughout, somewhat tangy, finishing in a muddled, still moldy/musty fashion. Screwcap closure.

Color: Pale straw. Nose: a nice bouquet of white fruits, chalk, spring flowers and a touch of lanolin Palate: somewhat viscous but yet light on its feet. In addition to some full bodied white fruit, the wine had a pleasent citrus zest. The overall impression was good but not particularly special or memorable.

On the palate, pear and red apple, off-dry. Soft and approachable.

Blind Tasting Unusual French and Italian Whites (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA): Stinky, reductive nose. White peach and a touch of residual sugar but hard to tainted by reduction. The penny trick helped, brought out peach and floral flavors. Others clearly didn't find the reduction as offensive as I did. (my 5th, group's 1st)

Smoke, tangerine, lime blossom, honey suckle and mineral. Good acid, sugar balance. A nice introductory Vouvray.
