Almost called this flawed but lack of experience got the best of me as I was not sure. Clearly reduced. Light pale yellow. Slight fritz upon opening with an offputting iodine grape nose. Musty throughout, somewhat tangy, finishing in a muddled, still moldy/musty fashion. Screwcap closure.

Color: Pale straw. Nose: a nice bouquet of white fruits, chalk, spring flowers and a touch of lanolin Palate: somewhat viscous but yet light on its feet. In addition to some full bodied white fruit, the wine had a pleasent citrus zest. The overall impression was good but not particularly special or memorable.

Strong nose of chalk and lemon. Great minerality in taste and texture but maybe missing a little bit of sweetness, which I think would have given this another dimension. As is, it's a good value and paired really well with roasted chicken.

Typical dry Vouvray which gives the impression of sweetness through its ripe tropical fruit. Personally though, I would love this if it actually had a touch of sweetness to deliver on what it is advertising. Lots of canned pineapple scents with a fairly fat but not actually unctuous mouthfeel. Good wine if you like a rich but dry style of chenin.

Pretty aquamarine honey pea thing on the nose or a freshly showered, passed out, Italian model. Just pretty. A little baby fat in the mouth with back and forth honey creme fraiche brioche. This should be your house white. Cut not as high as i would like but gulpable and poundable, kind of like aforementioned model.

Not as complex as the first bottle of this I had. There is more pear in this than I remember, but still some honey, and a fairly strong mineral component. Still good but not bowling me over tonight.

Delicious stuff. Has everything you want from Chenin from the Loire. Minerals, honey, chamomile, green almond, quince, melon, flavors orange citrus are bright and lively. It's dry but has enough ripeness to trick you into thinking its off dry.

Tight nose of grass, mineral, petrol. Chewy mineral and fruit (slightly sweet and sour) (citrus, pear, white melon). Finish of same. No glycerin. Dryish, body medium, acid medium.

Fantastic drink, you don't get much better value than this. A big whiff of juicy pear, and some grapefruit. Loads more of that juicy fruit on the palate and a long finish. Excellent structure: fruity and buttery balanced by acidity and minerality. At 11 euros an excellent alternative to a white burgundy of 3 times the price.

Nose with hints of citrus, sour apples, and grass or leaves. Rich burst of fruit, mostly on the attack, gives way quickly to a good acid bite mid-palate. Finish features fading fruit and dried leaves with echos of citrus and dried leaves. Medium body, medium plus acid, off-dry or dry.

On the palate, pear and red apple, off-dry. Soft and approachable.

Blind Tasting Unusual French and Italian Whites (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA): Stinky, reductive nose. White peach and a touch of residual sugar but hard to tainted by reduction. The penny trick helped, brought out peach and floral flavors. Others clearly didn't find the reduction as offensive as I did. (my 5th, group's 1st)
