This was drinking very well today and felt surprising good for a 17 years old Gigondas. Drank over 2 hours with the last glass even better than the first ones. From a 375ml.

Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about two hours.
Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of berries, flowers, a dash of pepper and wet stones. Good red berry flavors followed by Bing cherries and a dash of red raspberries. Medium acidity, medium tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink over the short term, let's say the next two years.

Surprisingly good. Found this bottle hidden away on a lower shelf and thought it might be past it's prime. It's still hanging on. The initial fruit blows away early on and then there's earth, herbs, pepper and olives lots of olives. It's like you've been transported to the south of France. Drink up if you have any, and don't be afraid to buy some if you see it.

For a southern Rhine it is lighter body than certainly chateauneuf du pape.
Drink today. Don't keep.
