Gabbro terroir, which I think is somewhat atypical for Muscadet. Lemon rind, beeswax, straw, with a deep-ocean salinity. Very high-toned, even for Muscadet, with a somewhat bitter acidity. As the wine warmed, it revealed a honeyed, almost sweet note on entry followed by a deeply contrasting, sour beer/lemonade finish.

Acquiring a light gloss of smoothness. Nicely-made light white, dry, tart, refreshing. No depth to speak of. Good as an aperitif, with light starter courses, or light seafood.

Well past its prime. Unfortunately, it is now boring and flat. No fruit at all.

Popped and poured. Citrus, seashells, with a touch of pear and a crunchy acidic finish.

Fairly rich, some salinity and wooliness but unfortunately dominated by sour and bitter notes. Hoping this is an off bottle. Not good.
