Final bottle of 6 and possibly the best yet. Color was light gold but flavor profile was much more aged. Still effervescent with candied ginger, lemon, apple, and some savory spices. Well done. Drink or hold depending on your bubbly preference.

Wow! Either this was an exceptional Vintage for Argyle or I’ve managed to hit this at it’s apogee. Really fantastic nose of bruised peaches and apricot, toasted brioche drizzled with dark sourwood honey. Medium bodied and plenty rich on the palate. Loads of sweet flavors that exactly echo the nose but with a blood orange twist thrown in. Really fantastic expression of mature bubbly! 92

This was my last bottle of 2008 that I bought from a former employee at the winery. Once he left, my supply of inexpensive Argyle was severed. Sad, as this is delicious: citrus and baked apple bask in an effervescent golden yellow playground. On the palate this dances on the tongue with wonderful brioche and a tartness that endures through the finish and beyond. Yum. thedrunkencyclist.com

Ah, Argyle Brut, how I have missed thee. I used to drink you with regularity, but once my source dried up, I have been holding onto these bottles with white knuckles. Still great apple fruit and vibrant acidity, even eight years out. The price of this wine has slowly crept up over the last few years and I am not sure it is still great value (I paid $10 for these), but it certainly is a solid wine. thedrunkencyclist.com

*Drank in Portland* Crisp, clean, and an absolutely lovely nose on this sparkler from Oregon! Lovely light straw color and could go with many dishes.
