Now it's ready. Much improved from 3 yrs ago when I last had one. Not huge or jammy, but right in the middle. Nice brambly fruit and well balanced tannins with a medium length finish.

A very, very nice Sonoma Zinfandel blend. Brought to a Super Bowl party and didn't have time to give it a proper decanting, so the first couple of glasses were rather closed and tight. Never really showed a whole lot on the nose - but after a little air time, this opened up beautifully, revealing deep, luscious raspberry, cherry and blackberry flavors. The signature Sonoma notes of dried herbs and briar were clearly present on the long, polished finish. Full-bodied, yet very smooth and graceful - not at all hot or overdone. Excellent QPR at just under $20. 50+5+11+16+8=90

Drank over several nights. Dark purple in colour. Med body, med acidity, nice tannins, and nice finish. Great wine

Zinfandel Tasting featuring a V. Sattui Black Sears vertical (Brett and Carols, Landenberg, PA): Tart dark fruits, good acid, restrained, fine tannins. Elegant. I ranked this #2 behind the '96 V. Sattui.

Still needs to breathe. Decanted for a couple of hours and it opened up nicely.
