A surprise. Brownish in color, but beautiful raspberry yoghurt like, earthy nose. Developing nice in the glass, not much power but good weight and some finesse. Will not getting better and to drink up now.

Very good wine overall reminding me of both aged Chianti and Medoc. Initially very Poor impression from barnyard nose and a nearly-crumble cork. This wine has Nose of a shiraz, dark color of cabernet, but the taste is pure sangiovese expression. Very earthy with some barnyard and spices, dark cherry, sour, somewhat toasty, some complexity, medium finish. This is out-f**King-standing for a $16 Rosso di Montalcino. Makes you wonder why WE only scored the 06 BdM a 90. Drink now.

This Sangiovese has a wonderful nose with the typical earthiness and spice. The palate was balanced on the beginning of the palate and full of ripe fruit. The middle is great, but the finish, although long and expressive, lacks the smooth finesse one would like to see in a great wine. This wine is a great match to a spicy sausage and tomato sauce served with sauteed mushrooms and grilled peppers. I favor this 2006 over the more highly rated 2007.

For $18, this was a solid choice. The nose is barnyard. Spice, sour cherry, leather, and a bit of forest floor on the taste. The finish is long and spicy.

fantastic, soulful, 'non-engineered' sangiovese terroir wine from the Montosoli hill. Baricci delivers an ethereal fluid that is so out-of-fashion that one wants to start crying. don't read this! don't buy his wines! forget the name forever!
