  • Slightly bricking red in color, with dried rose petals, red cherry, and notes of tea on the nose. The palate shows light red cherry, orange peel and dried herb flavors. Refined tannins, and a nice finish.

  • Nice nose. I get some toasty, carmel like notes and rose petal or flower. There's some earth or peat in there as well. Sweet, although not at all cloying, raspberry flavors. Nice acidity and a moderately long finish. Nice wine and very tastefully done.

  • Performs best at cellar temp or slighly cooler. A pretty and exotic nose. Very light body wit well focused flavots of sandelwood, pine, cranberry, and limelike citrus notes. slight bitterness on the finish which is actually quite nice to balance the overall pretty impression. Reminds me of a very good village Burg. I'd say this is ready to drink any time, unless one is really looking for the fruit to drop out and only secondary age flavors to predominate.

  • Brief impression: Black cherry and sassafras nose. Pine needles, floral, strawberries, raspberries, black cherries, and a sea salt/minerally quality on the palate. A nice, fresh iteration of Sonoma Coast pinot. Very enjoyable. Would love more of this. 90.

  • Depending on my impression in comparison to the other bottle opened alongside of it ('06 Saxon-Brown Durrel); pre or post breathing/opening; or, with or without food, my rating could be considered too high or too low...though not by more than 2pts, either way. A seeming under-performer for the Sonoma Coast AVA and the stellar '05 vintage. This wine's flaw may-well have been that it was too pretty and was blessed with too much finesse. It reminded me more of a well-made though possibly past-its-prime coastal Pinot...which again, as an '05, from a single-vineyard in the Sonoma Coast, clearly should have impressed with much more.
