This wine is a powerhouse, but with balance. Deep dark ruby with purple hues. The nose is pronounced, with blackberry, black currant and a little bit of new oak induced chocolate, espresso and sweet baking spice. The palate is dry, but with some RS despite the 14.8% alcohol. The acidity and tannins are medium and the alcohol does not seem as high as the abv number would indicate. The mouthfeel is rich and creamy, with a long finish. It paired very well with some good, peppery Texas Hill Country BBQ. It is drinking well now but could easily go a couple of more years. Definitely worth looking for, this really reminds me of the Rosenblums of old.

Very dark. Seashore, pips, rainstorm, black fruit nose. Very intense black fruit, licorice and saline finish. Not long, clean. Overall this wine is shocking to the senses and not for me.

Very dark red/purple. Saline, mineral and dark plum nose. Salinity is very apparent in the mouth, along with bitter licorice and dark berries. Concentrated, viscous with mineral finish. A little rubber boot, too. Interesting but not for everybody!
