Packs a bit of heat, as AAJR noted. That said, this is still a luscious glass of wine when you're in the mood for brash and fruit packed. Dark purple with loads of kirsch, blackberry jam, spice and apricot at the front that transitions to spicy cedar and smokey notes in the finish. Remarkably fresh with a whiff of pine needle that peeks out. This could easily cellar for a few more years. (=Worth seeking out)
Consumed over three days. 89-91 points over the three day period, day 3 being the best showing for this wine. Quite a bit of heat in this wine given the 16% alcohol. By day 3 the heat did subside. Jammy with flavors of dark cherries & berries.
