Jammy and sweet, with loads of ripe, tart cherry and cranberry flavors. Finishes with a dry, oaky edge. Initially this was a little closed, with oak and a musty essence predominant, but opened up nicely after 60-90 mins of airtime.

Blackberry jam and raisins, cured meat, peppery on the nose; almost decaying aromas. Sweet-tart cherry on the palate, smooth tannins, still medium plus acid. Still lots of life left in this wine, elegant for the price. Adding a little bacon or cheese to different dishes made it go well with lots of different foods.

Beautiful flavours emerged on day 3. Suggest a long decant. Went very well with pork liver pate.

Pop and pour. At peak or slightly past, but drinking well. Full big cherry fruit and plenty of oak that’s well integrated and rich, full finish.
