PnP that's in the zone now. An elegant rendition of this variety, with an excellent sense of place and grape. Med+ bodied with ample, fresh acidity, very fine tannins confidently frame the package. Loving the elegance and slightly spicy, peppery finish. My last one, sadly. I say sadly, as it still has many brilliant years ahead if this bottle is representative. 14,0% abv. highly recommended
Three hours of aeration in decanter after removing sediment, served blind to some good friends - it was well liked. The wine began a bit fruity, and I couldn't really see the character of the variety the way I wanted to, but some one hour into it, the change began, and many were in N. Rhone, exactly where I wanted them. But, clever guys that they are, the (Italian) acidity, as they called it, convinced them it was Italian. Very happy the way it performed, and if this bottle is representative, it's in the early-mid days of its preferred window. 14,0% abv. Understated, elegant. highly recommended
This has class but needs a lot more time unlike high alcohol Aussie Shiraz which drinks well young, this tastes very hot now but I would think 3 or so years of secondary would fix the package , but but cellar for 3-5 years

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #047:Shiraz/Syrah, Australia, France and South Africa. (By AG): The bouquet is not (yet?) really expressive, but there are some black tea and olives. On the palate a bit smoky with autumn impressions, good acidity and tannin and overall quite tasty. Beautiful and harmonious wine.
