  • Solid - nothing spectacular.

  • Initially, Cabernet-esque rubber nose/palate. Medium-stiff tannins with some fruit hiding under there somewhere. After a few days on Coravin, and an hour open, more approachable, with tartish black cherry fruit, tooth-drying tannins right up front. Big, rustic, better with a hearty meal, like duck or a grilled flank steak.
Not bad, but not my style (le Moine, Mugnier, Mugneret-Gibourg). Try again after 2021 or beyond.

  • Rather big, deep wine. Un-Pinot like at this stage. Game and funk; not subtle. Needs time?

  • Moderate bright ruby core with amber rim. Expressive nose of red berries, leather, dried rose petals, and slightly gamey tang. Though relatively light weight on the palate and somewhat lacking in concentration, it still offers lovely red fruits, fine grained tannins, and beautifully balanced acidity. This nice village level bottling is approachable now and likely still has a number of years at its peak. 13% ABV. $74.
