The color is browning on this wine, and it is far too young for this color. It doesn't come across as oxidized at all, or ruined in some way, but it does bear the same lack of excitement I find in all '07 Burgundy - typically thin, seemingly acidified and/or engineered in some way. Unimpressive overall.

PnP. Oakland Cory noted how light this was in color. When I pulled the cork with my Ah-so, I realized how accurate his note was as there was a faint pink color on the cork base. On the nose this possesses feminine aromas of strawberry and cherry, along with a bit of mushroom. This is a light bodied pinot that reminds me of the 2009 Villa Mt. Eden. On the palate, the strawberry and cherry are persistent, and there is well integrated acidity with minerality and chalky pastiness that hangs on the finish. This has a few more years (through 2015), and this would be a good Burgundy to introduce to friends and guests who are accustomed to domestic Pinot.

Revisiting an old favorite. The only thing lean in this 2007 Les Vergelesses is the color, the plate packs a red fruit punch with terrific acidity and an angular edge to the finish. Not going to win any awards for complexity, but this is one of my favorite Cote de Beaune vineyard sites and even in 2007 it shows why.

Good for the price, but fairly mundane next to the 07 Patricia Green.
