  • Still drinking quite well after 14 years. Cork was perfect condition. Wine color is ruby with clear edges and some loose fine sediment. Not particularly fragrant on the nose but the mouthfeel is smooth, balanced with cranberry, sour cherry and a nice aged element. Probably needs to be drunk in next 1-2 years.

  • I still love clone 777, still tasting great!!
I agree with my previous tasting notes of the last year. A perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle, easily removed. Consumed this delicious Pinot Noir over two days and it held up well, great each day. Slightly oxidized ruby color with medium clarity. Great wine that aged well. My last bottle of this vintage.

  • Still tasting great, like the 777 I fell for years ago !!
I agree with my previous tasting note, perhaps up one notch. A perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle, easily removed. Consumed this delicious Pinot Noir over two days and it held up well, great each day. Slightly oxidized ruby color with medium clarity. Aged well, this bottle shined on the second day. I still have one last bottle of this vintage to see how much longer this wine will develop.

  • Drink up, just past peak !! The 777 clone is my favorite Pinot Noir clone, but this bottle is on the decline.
Still good after over a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days and did not fall apart over 24 hours. Perfect cork, ruby red in color with minor oxidation. Aromas of rose hips and strawberry. Flavors of bright bing cherry and forest floor with a medium finish. Slightly more acidic than fruity, but pairs well with grilled salmon. The winemaker, Ben Papapietro suggested drinking all the 2009s over four years ago, but this 777 has done well with additional bottle age. I still have two more of the vintage in the cellar, so I will revisit soon to confirm this tasting note.

  • Dark ruby color. Satiny mouth feel. Plenty of cherry and black cherry fruit, then a bit of sour on the finish. Acidic in a pleasant way--cut through the richness of mushroom soup just brilliantly. But, not much structure or secondary flavors. Understandable why it's such a good component of a blend.
