Color is dark purple, with slight brick red around the edge. Nose gives sweet cherry, red plum, with heat noticeable. Taste is similar, very round and rich profile with uber-ripe red fruit that almost leans to a port-style. Certainly enjoyable but needs some acid, particularly early in the evening. We revisited after dinner and enjoyed it more. But this probably had more to do with the cooler temps outside. This is nit one to drink in the sun. Save it for the firepit.
