Popped and poured. Intense aroma of apricot and lichee, with some floral notes. Tart citrus/peach flavor, with minerals and a bit of petrol. Juicy peach finish.
Firm backbone, lively flavors, some complexity, great staying power. Approaching, or at, its prime.

Rieslingfeier Grand Tasting (New York City, NY): I'm not sure if the slightly lighter vintage makes for a better wine than in 2012. This has a touch more elegance, and some white grape flavour on the palate. At the same time, I think the age has allowed this wine to pick up a little bit more complexity in comparison to its younget sibling.

LOF (@ MvG: Riesling): In the bouquet gooseberry and green apples. On the palate tight and focused with minerals, dry, a lot of acidity, grapefruits including the bitterness and almonds. I have the impression this is made of unripe fruits. Nevertheless a clean wine and ok if you like the acidity and bitterness. My score is 85 – 86.

Straw yellow. Nose of grapefruit and apricot. Vibrant acid and clean fruit. Concentrated and a long finish. Still holding on.

NOSE > Big, pungent, musky/salty, creamy/steely, aromatic, flowery, lavender, wet limestone, tart-apricot, nectarine-skin,
pink-grapefruit, & white peach, with a hint of egg-custard.
PALATE > Big & tight. Round, powerful/muscular, yet linear. Salty minerality, tart-nectarine skin, crushed-rock, quince, tart-apricot, ginger, lime-flesh, & grapefruit/lime-oil.
Finish & aftertaste of smoky/musky/lime-flesh/oil/zest.
Med+ intensity. Great length. Power & subtlety. Young & impressive.
