This wine has evolved in a year and is a complete joy to drink, enticing straight after pulling the cork, but changing in the glass to reveal more nuances of flavour. Not a blockbuster (all the better for that!) but a lovely amalgam of cherry/damson fruit, straw and farmyard notes with warm spices wrapped in a velvety cloak, balanced by appropriate acidity. WoFW 17.5/20

Deep colour, hints of farmyard and red fruit on nose, ripe cherries and damsons with tobacco and cinnamon. Very long. Rich but not sweet, a triumph in 2003. Lovely to drink now, but might evolve further. WoFW 16.5/20

Dark colour. Intriguing, deep nose, then great freshness and depth on the palate. Great depth and wealth of fruit, clearly grand cru quality. Open now, but with good mid-term potential.

A flight of bord 01s and others: Initial attack of oak but quickly overcomed by cloud of mushrooms, undergrowth and medicated plaster, all rounded off by some flowers and minerality.Layers of ripe berry fruits, orange peels and dried roots albeit a little sweet and extracted probably from the heat of the vintage.
