Combine the 9/28/2017 and the 2nd of the 4/24/18 notes, and that would be my review of this wine. Don't usually like this much persimmon shoulders astringence, but the fun part's refined intensity makes it all worth it Drinking this @73° instead of 67 reduced the last glass's tannins significantly

Solid Barolo. Nose wet earth and red florals. Palate full, textured tannins, acidity, wood, fair complexity and depth, slow to evolve during 90 minute dinner.

My prior tasting note from two years ago still applies. Very good now but still on the upswing with lots of good years ahead.
