If you have never taken the 10 min drive between Windsor & Alexander Valley ( known as part of the Chalk Hill Appelation ) this Chalk hill Road is breathtaking any time of year. The wines nose is a classic rich Sonoma County/ Russian River Chardonnay of depth , balance and a touch of Regalness. As Jim Linquist from Au Bon Climant always said … pick for Acid. The ripe flavors of exotic mango , guava, papaya, jazz apple, Bosc pear, toasted almonds, with a warming acidity that gives the wine great length and finish. The Oak aging is spot on & balanced. The age has added benefits from a good vintage. The texture is mouth filling and that attractive rawnes of pectin from an unfiltered wine with guts but elegance. Enjoy trough 2025 but it’s a gem right now. Only wish I had the Lady, fireplace & bearskin rug.

Very pretty nose upon opening, with lots of floral and citrus-zest notes along with some apple and pear. For me, the palate was mostly buttery baked apples. Maybe also getting a little banana and cream. The citrus notes didn't really carry over when sipping. The more the wine breathed, the more dominant the buttery notes became.

Light yellow color. Aromas of apple, pears, citrus and oak. Ripe, medium-bodied fruit in the mouth with good depth and length. Focused and oaky on the palate. This wine may improve with another year or two of bottle age.

At this point fresh but pretty acidic. Not the greatest pairing with a solid with a mustardy dressing

Another good bottle of this Chardonnay from magnum. Creamy lemon with a hint of oak. Went great with appetizers on a steamy hot evening.
