Actually enjoyed more than the bottle I drank two years ago. Good amount of black cherry fruit, still lighter than CA pinots. One more bottle to go; we'll see where this ends up.

Opened one hour in advance. Aroma of red fruit and herbs. Tart flavors of cherry, with black fruit undertones. Chalky finish. Firm acid, fruit is attractive but reticent, good staying power. Decent now, may yet blossom into something wonderful. Best guess is to leave this alone for at least a couple of years and see what happens.

better than first bottle, showing more open. woodsy with sweet dried fruit in the red spectrum. brick center to orange and yellow chartreuse rim. looked old but not tired and it was best on the last glass 3 hrs after dbl decant. soft and bit watery on the mid palate, not a stunning finish, but nice set of aromatics. This being 2 of 7 obtained last yr, I wouldn't hesitate to pull another cork to enjoy and monitor.

@ the hotel before dinner (Hostellerie de Levernois, France), en magnum. Youthful, bright red fruit, acid, a bit taut and thin at first, put on weight with time, very SLB in character. Will likely get better with bottle age but at this time in its evolution, not exactly my style.

Transparent cranberry robe with an earthy, sweet cherry aroma. The smooth palate shows decent lift thanks to the ample acidity and tannins. Cherry, earth, pine and truffles help to balance out the structure. Bize's use of Oak is so deft that it is barely noticeable. This is pretty damn satisfying right now, in a rather straight forward way, but promises to unfurl into something quite special if left in the cellar for at least a few more years. Upside: 1-2 pts.
