Served a little warm, but very decent for village level — dark red fruit, autumnal wet leaf sous-bois, smooth and ready on the mid-palate with reasonable definition on the finish. Good. ***

Very bright and sour-tinged raspberry, pomegranate, strawberry fruit, sappy stems and stony minerality. A little rustic on the palate which shows plenty of high tones and a fair whack of powdery tannins which have a slight green streak from the stems. Good concentration and intensity for its village appellation. Not sure where this is heading, but nice now after a two hour decant.

This has evolved quite a bit since 2008. The nose is very interesting and the palate is sappy but lacks complexity. This will certainly improve further.

This is very good, but also built to last for a long time. Nose is filled with crushed rocks, purest raspberries. Taste feels very deep with high acidity in combination with lots of minerals. Lacks some complexity right now - but that is bound to come down the road. Potential score.

(Simone Bize Savigny-Les-Beaune "Bourgeots") It just had too much tannin and acid. There was fruit there and it was in a highly rustic style but it just was not on its game tonight. The next day however it showed lovely with big red fruit, a wave on the palate and some lovely earthy/bretty aromas for nervosity. If this is any indication the Simon Bize wines of 2005 will last a very long time.
