Masterclass with Melanie Tarlant, vertical tasting of all currently released La Vigne d’Antan vintages. Wine #4/5. Made from ungrafted Chardonnay vines, planted in 1962. Disgorged in July 2010. Medium golden colour. Aroma of honey, ripe and dry apples, white peach, yeast, acacia, lime. Palate of zero dosage, seems slightly short in energy comparing ti other vintages. Earthy and chalky mineral notes along zesty citrusy flavours, spicy mousse, concludes with pleasant bitterness.

Lighter, highly reflective gold. Iced cake on the nose with a bit of aquarium bowl as a secondary scent. Almost no bubbles visible in the glass, but quite effervescent in the mouth. Notes of lemon bubble gum with strong minerals.

100% Chard from ungrafted vines. This is a serious, delicious drink, with plenty of baked apple on nose and linear on palate, tasty with laser focus acidity and showing some minerality. Perfect for seafood or heavy dishes, makes you go back for more. Tastes young for a 2000.
