Definitely did not feel it was over the hill. It is a chardonnay that, right now, is over a dozen years old. At various events at Phelps, we discovered that their Chardonnay's are quite capable of aging gracefully. An aged chardonnay certainly tastes different. It is mellow and certainly less fruity. What was interesting was there was a person that does not like chardonnay, but he took a taste and kept pouring more. Anyhow, we certainly liked it

Crisp apple nose. Nicely balanced oak treatment. Drinking well right now.
