Steam like waft as I cracked the bottle open, giving away an intense bouquet of dark fruits. Purplish crimson in the light. Rich dark plums, blackberries, tannins well balanced and smoothing. Nice long after taste. Approaching peak but should have a few more good years to enjoy this vintage.

{screwcap, 14.5%} Big, fruity. Plums, coconut, not overtly oaky, but all fruit, with low powdery tannins, low acidity; it's all about the rich fruit, but that leaves it a bit unbalanced as far as structure goes. Medium weight, medium length finish, but all a bit simple and obvious. Not a wine to cellar, but OK to drink if you're looking for dense not dimension.

Obviously young but did start to show potential after an hours breathing time. Good McLaren Vale fruit, hints of chocolate, berries, coconut, vanilla (memories of cherry ripe) and some licorice. Light furry tannins, acid in balance. Good mouthfeel and length. Will be even better in 3-5 years but for now worth 91+
