Just fantastic and loved by all the winos around the table. Rich, deep, and long. In the sweet spot of maturity at age 20 but not fading any time soon, Excellent acidity, better than a bottle in 2019.

You keep me hanging on L'Hermitage. I like drinking these bottles older. Fun to hunt for them. This one was really complete. Biscuity, bread, button mushroom, a little sherry, and a broad creamy palate with a long finish. Should have had more food with this bottle. Will seek more old bottles. Tres fun.

Slow perlage of small bubbles in the pour, with aromas of yeast and lime. The acidity is very strong, cutting, and vivid, and sloshing the sip around the moth releases more bubbles. The swallow highlights the mouth cleansing scrubbing power of this wine. One of the few sparklers from California that could pass as a ringer in a tasting of Champagnes. Excellent fruity taste of lemon and lime. Impressively exuberant and refreshing for a 16 year sparkler, showing not a hint of butterscotch, fatigue, or decay. Reliably great with every food in a meal.

(Roederer Estate L'Ermitage Brut) Bright light yellow color; creamy, vanilla, lemon, peach nose; rich, creamy textured, tart nectarine, citrus palate with medium acidity, could use more focus; medium finish
(Roederer Estate L'Ermitage Brut) Delicate, light, creamy citrus nose; tasty, tart creamy citrus, mineral palate; medium finish 92 (I prefer it to the '02 Louis Roederer Brut Cristal, at least at this stage)

Great richness and length though not about cut. Worth the wait.

Les Degustateurs 1985 New World vs Old World (George Trois Winnetka, IL): Classy, fresh, showing some age, lemon, floral, good finish. Great start to a fun tasting.
