Golden yellow; next to no nose to begin with, over an hour or so opening up with subtle quiet pear and vanilla; nice and fresh attack (amazing given 23 years old), other notes say that fruit is gone - correct - but nevertheless really nice, rounded, light honey, well-balanced, long quiet but still intense concentrated aftertaste; one of the best older north Rhones tasted and no hint of oxidation / sherry whatsoever; worth the wait!

Three hours in the glass before it started to sing. Very nice balance with a subtle amount of grapefruit that emerges mid way through. Unmistakably Rhône. The finish lasts a good 60 seconds. All around good and certainly unique. No primary fruit left and this should hold for as long as you want. Easily another decade.

Bought from the producer in the early 2000s and stored in the Eurocave. Decanted for an hour and sipped over the course of the evening. Full marks for balance and complexity- honey, almonds, white flowers and a hint of baking spice. Very litttle primary fruit on the palate though I could coax a little pear I suppose. Medium to medium plus intensity and length which although fine, was not mind blowing. Overall a lovely 22 year old Hermitage Blanc that is best enjoyed withing the next few years.
