Ordered a bottle at Bruna's restaurant in Chicago. Seaquam wrote that this wine was a good match with tomato sauce so I paired it with Bucatini Amatriciana. Seaquam is a wise man. I previously had the 1999, 2006 and 2020. A blend of Sangiovese and Merlot. Notes of black cherries and leather. Everyone at the table really enjoyed this wine. Chewy tannins and a supple finish. 93 points.

An all-around, outstanding "second" from a first-rate producer. Hits all the right notes for the modern, Maremma-styled Bordeaux blend, with enough merlot (and oak!) to sweeten the more tannic Sangiovese and combine the best of both worlds. Flavorful, and medium bodied from start to finish, this is an easy drinker that pairs well with grilled meats or pasta bolognese. Great mid-week quaff @ $22 (Costco)

Super Tuscan, some funk and red fruit and tobacco on the nose. Medium + acidity, juicy red fruit and hints of darker currant, some oak in the back, medium body. Finish could be longer. decent wine and value.

not as bad as I had anticipated. decent for the price. a little over-oaked for my taste.

A very good goto wine. Dark fruit, some sour cherries, soft and warm with a long balanced finish.
