This is very appealing with lovely rich fruit flavours trading the stage with tartness, a moderately tannic backbone, wood spice and perhaps even light herb notes and impressions of sweetness at times. This is not overly complex (yet?) but certainly delicious and with a sense of quality. 91+

Nice overall balance. Better on 2nd day ... taste filled in and less shrill on the acidity. Good fruit flavours of red berries and dark cherries. Spices, and some herbal component on the finish. Tannins still present ... slightly chewy/grainy. Medium length to finish.

Super-Tuscans, once among the world’s most sought-after wines, have fallen out of fashion recently. I’d pretty much stopped drinking ST some years ago, probably for the same reasons as everyone else – they were $$ & confusing, generic if you will.
Now, if you have not enjoyed an ‘-aia’ wine, this one would be a good introduction to these bad boys of Tuscany.
With big brother Oreno in the background, I really like the alluring flavors of fleshy plums, tender berries, dark cherries, delicate spice, & licorice.
The palate is full-bodied, with intense tannins, balanced acids, & a long, engaging finish. This wine will only get better as these vines age…Sucking, you were right!

Restaurant service. Cherry, plum, camphor, sage, allspice and lavender aromas and flavors. Richly layered with succulent fruit and plenty of savory depth, pleasantly nervy, closing with ripe round tannins.

A powerful beam of cassis and blackberry fruit, but the herbal aromas of dried herbs, incense, and barrel spice make this particularly appealing.
