Everything you want in a Amorone. Dark fruit still there but it’s all about the secondary flavors now. Leather, spice, tobacco and velvet in texture. Very nice

Not decanted but open for about an hour before drinking. This has become somewhat more complex in the last few years. More raisin than cherry now. Rich in texture and enough acidity to cut through the richness of the bistecca. The finish was decent, with leather, spice and just a faint bit of chocolate. Good solid Amarone.

Long legs reflect the alcohol content, but nothing else hinted at the 16% alcohol. Dark fruit on the nose. Rich opulent palate, dark cherry with chocolate covered raisins. Nice spice mix in the background. Everything is well balanced with nice acidity. Finish is medium. Surprisingly bright considering. Really enjoyable. Still has lots of life left. Had with Fiorentina Portehouse Group was split on whether the Sassacaia or this were a better match with the meat. I thought both worked wonderfully. I think it has gotten a little better since December. I will probably sit on the remainder for a while and see how it evolves

Last bottle and it is still in a very good place.
Very much an Amarone. Raisin, spice dark cherry. Very rich and smooth.
