Just OK, out of the gate with a cherry, Blueberry and decent on the palate. Med finish, smooth tannins with nothing of special in its characteristic's.

Nose is tobacco and slightly sour leather. Blueberries and a wood smell are also hinted at from time to time. Palate is initially tannic on the front with an overly acidic finish. Spice, blueberry, and black olive are also present. Went much better with food. Grilled pork and steamed veggies really bring out the blueberries and balance the tannin/acid profiles. Pleasurable with food. Later in the night after 4+ hours the tankins soften and the acidic finish mutes (although still present), it becomes much more balanced. Smooth wine, weighty mouthfeel. Might just need more time. I think this one could knit together. Not what I wanted but not bad.

Smoke and sweet candied cherry on the nose, nice mouthcoating midpalate, and as with the 08 Camp Block, the tart cherry on the finish kills the experience. So differentfrom the Saxon 06 and 07's. Bummed.
-- Consumed at at cellar temp: 60°-65° F. Friends don't let friends drink red wine at room temp!

A bit of a lightweight for the price, but still pretty good. I'm a fan of Saxon Brown products, so I'm inclined to like it.
