  • Dutch Dinner w/Jeoreon and Isobel, Valerie and Meredith (Chez Walker - New Hope, PA): Last bottle of this designate from this vintage. This followed an 07 Vieux Donjon at dinner. Splash decant, drank over 45 minutes

Notes from 2020: "Inky purple color, no separation yet. Nose of dark berries, minerals, dried flowers. Full body, viscous palate showing blackberry, blue fruits, charcoal, faint oak. Rich flavors through the mid and back palate, long finish."

Blackberry and currants still vibrant. Vibrant color, no separationIf tasted blind I would have guessed this was younger. Outstanding showing on this evening. Seems this will go for another 10+ years. Consistent with the 08s in my cellar, an unheralded vintage that has turned out to be superb

  • Tasted blind. Ripe fruit, blackberries, cloves, licorice, chocolate, and some menthol on the nose. Lots of tannins on the palate at first, but the ripe, sweet, black fruit stands up to it. Some hint of vanilla rounds out the palate. Good finish. Quite young still with upside, but a bit too much for my taste.

  • Bottle opened for a Zoom call with Aaron Pott hosted by Gary...great excuse to check in on this. Bought at release, cellared since. PnP, drank half over 2 hours.

Inky purple color, no separation yet. Nose of dark berries, minerals, dried flowers. Full body, viscous palate showing blackberry, blue fruits, charcoal, faint oak. Rich flavors through the mid and back palate, long finish.

First bottle of this so no expectations other than liking other Pott wines. This was really gorgeous on this evening - still drinking young, energetic and plush. It continued to improve over 90 minutes. I couldn't finish the bottle solo so I shared half with a thankful neighbor. Guessing it wouldn't be as good on Day 2 (but who knows...) Should go for a while but worth drinking now...

  • A little oak but loads of blackberries and currants. Some cinnamon and violets. The palate is thick and a little chewy with some greenish stem notes and loads of tannins. Young but nice.

  • A good bottle of wine but still needs some time to complete its potential. Very satisfiting but still a little bit tannic and needs to decant a while to develop fully. I have decided that it is not quite ready to drink tonight after tonight's bottle.
