Megamoon Part VI: Salta (Argentina); 11/5/2015-11/9/2015 (Cafayate, Molinos, Cachi, and Salta): My favorite wine of the first day of tasting in Salta, these are from 90 year old vines, spends 1.5 years in French oak, and made of 100% Malbec. Very smooth notes, get some tobacco, woodlands, dried leather. Less fruity than a lot of the other Malbecs we tried. Even though it has some age I suspect this could use more time (maybe another 5 years). The drinking window in CT of 2017 seems early to me. Enjoyed.

Olor totalmente reducido.

Really impressed with this Malbec base blend. It’s smooth, earthy and we’ll balanced which is hard to find in a Malbec

Nice flavor. I get cherry and a touch of blackberry and rose. Good complexity. Nice finish.

5/27/2014 - Harley1199 Does not like this wine:
High Altitude Vineyards (Plus Private Dinner at restaurant García de la Navarra) (Vila Viniteca - Madrid): Reduced smelling, like a macerated plastic bag full of organic residues under the summer sun.
With time some aromas of liquorice, black pepper and veggie aromas.
On the palate is dry and short. A simple, short-haul bottle. Well done Monsieur Rolland.
