Yum! Honey, baked apple. Vibrant and fresh with mellowed aged fruit, very long finish. Good acid and balance. Clear and clean and steely with nice mineral. This is at peak and going strong.

Auction purchase. Over the hill or maybe heat damaged. A good lick of caramel and lots of sweetness but not enough verve or acid. Finish is abrupt and oddly watery/thin.

Developed, mellowed. Good bright sweet fruit, a hint of caramel, bright lemon peel acid in the back. Long bright clean finish. Really nice. Mid maturity.

First of four bottles that I cracked -- went for the weeper, and it still has some pretty significant sugar. Not sure the acid structure will allow this wine to outlast its sugar if that's your deal, so wait another five years, and serve it with cheese or spicy food. Not much Rheingau terroir a la peanut shell or worm tillings.

Rich and yummy, drinking well. Sweet, but with a super clean finish that refreshes.
