  • From the get go, this was nothing but a problem. The brittle cork broke off about 5/8ths from the top of the bottle leaving only a little dial of cork requiring deft removal. The cork’s core seems brittle while the outer area looks and feels normal. The very thin purple color on the very bottom of the cork shows that it sealed well and hasn’t suffered any storage issues. From here, it just went downhill. The wine is beyond cloudy. It’s dirty and no amount of time will clear it up. The rim is maroon and the core is opaque. The nose is all band-aid. Two hours later, the band-aid is still there, but a little bit of blackberry and eucalyptus shows up. The wine is too acidic. The mouthfeel is thin and unpleasant. Loads of sediment. A blend of Grenache and Mourvedre. 14.4% alc. With pork loin under a blue cheese sauce. Not Recommended.

  • Double decanted for one hour. Dark ruby in color with slight bricking. On the nose, bright cherries. On the palate, tangy cranberries and rhubarb with a long 30-second finish. This bottle was a bit advanced for its age...purchased from a local grocery in 2004 or 2005. Still, it was quite nice!

  • Wednesday, December 01, 2004 A delicious wine of Syrah, Grenache. Loads of smoked meat and blackberries. Don’t recall the food pairing.

  • ($19) A fruity, Grenache blend that is reminiscent of Cotes du Rhone. Strawberry, leather, ripe fruit. Somewhat blowsy, but decent.
