Fantastic. Modern style and fruit forward, but carried by excellent balance and elegance, good purity of fruit. A lovely wine for drinking now, with plenty of life ahead.

92+ pts. Darker color than I would have expected. Very pretty red fruit that is subtle initially but becomes more intense into the finish. Developing more complexity now, and likely to improve but was great now with some air.

Tuesday Night Double Blind $60+ (Alpharetta, GA): Dark ruby core with lighter rim; volatile, some sulfur, fresh nose, sweet new oak; fresher red fruit on the palate, spicy, raspberry, sour dark cherry, nice grip, young; very misdiagnosed by group.

New style Champeaux with intense fruit, drinking well now. A bouquet of sweet red berries, black cherry, plum and a hint of licorice; hence, the balance is outstanding, the finish is long and silky smooth. Typically 2009 and very close to the Champeaux from Dugat Py. Really strange the strong resemblance, blind I would have stated Champeaux Dugat Py.

Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Ripe black berries with hints of chocolate and earth. Modern styled new oak is still pronounced, but is supported by very good fruit quality and concentration. Very good now, this will be better in a few more years.
