  • Thick dense and malleable wine. At 14 years old it still has a Napa like inky blackness. Beautiful integration of alcohol, acidity, fruit and tanins. Black cherry and baked apple pie on the nose and palate. A beautiful core of liquorice and dark chocolate. Excellent wine. Should still evolve further for a hand full of years.

  • Tasted this at a dinner party with wine knowledgeable friends. Also tasted 2009 Mondavi - Oakville. This was the clear preference although the Mondavi by itself was a winner. The taste had a little more bright fruit - plum; and it lingered longer.

  • Clear dark ruby in colour. Clean nose of black fruit and vanilla. Dry, med acidity, med body, smooth tannins, blackberry, cassis, and dark chocolate. nice finish. Nose and palate were quite light at beginning. After decanting for 2-3 hours wine started to really show more character. I think I drank this too early, and would have found it more interesting if I would have had it decanting longer before drinking.
